How Probiotics May Stop Stomach Pains, Alleviate Esophagus Problems & Control Stomach Acid

Louis Pasteur was the Mick Jaeger of nineteenth century science. And, rightly so.

But, rock star that he was, he made the words “bacteria” and “bacterial” synonymous with disease. This misconception is still with us today. The truth is that some bacteria can actually help you alleviate esophagus related problems, stop stomach pains and control stomach acid.

Why All Bacteria are NOT Bad Bacteria

Make no mistake, there definitely are bad bacteria. But in a healthy body, there are also trillions of good bacteria that provide many of the critical elements to good and vitality. These microscopic mighty microbes are called probiotics (for life). Without these good bacteria or without enough of them, the bad guys take over in a bacterial war. If you let this happen life will get downright miserable for your stomach, esophagus and general health.

While Pasteur’s discovery of the germ theory of disease received great notoriety and acclaim quite fast, the discovery of bacteria’s healthy side has taken a lot longer to permeate the public consciousness.

The results?

Years of needless stomach pains, esophagus problems, heartburn, acid stomach and dyspepsia.

Maybe it was because the discoverer of the life enhancing benefits of probiotics, a microbiologist and 1908 Nobel Prize Winner named Ellie Metchnikoff, was a Russian. They were not PR poster boys.

But, whatever the reason, Metchnikoff, curious as to what made some people live longer than others, studied the astonishing number of individuals in Bulgaria that were living to be over 100 years old. He traced the secret of their longevity to probiotics – the beneficial microorganisms that were contained in the fermented yogurt they ate.

Ellie, we love you, Man.

12 Ways Probiotics Help You Live a Longer, Healthier Life?

1. Probiotics break down into its most basic elements allowing nutrients to absorb through the digestive system

2. They strengthen the immune system, which enables the body to better fight disease

3. They help relieve constipation

4. They reduce the chance of infection from common pathogens (harmful microorganisms or bacteria)

5. They help the nutrients get into the cells with greater ease where they generate the physical energy of life.

6. They promote recovery from diarrhea

7. They clean the intestines

8. They can help prevent viruses and parasites

9. They help prevent yeast and fungal infections

10. They improve the digestion of vitamins

11. They inhibit the growth of harmful microorganisms or bacteria

12. They help make certain B vitamins

All of which translates into a healthy stomach, colon and esophagus.

Not bad for a bunch of microroganisms the size of a micron. There are one million microns in a meter – or, side by side, about 25,000 bacteria in an inch. So we’re talking very, very, small.

How Much Good Bacteria Should Your Body Have?

Your intestines should have about 85% good bacteria and 15% bad. But the chlorinated water we drink, the presence of in the food we eat, the medical treatments we take, the environmental chemicals and toxins we are exposed to and a multitude of other factors can wreck havoc in the gastrointestinal tract. This throws our digestive systems completely out of balance causing stomach pains, heartburn and esophagus related problems. On days like that you’d rather be burned at the stake.

What’s the Mightiest of All Beneficial Microorganisms?

Some years ago a revolutionary discovery was made using a unique combination of probiotics – a team of beneficial microorganisms so coordinated, so in harmony, so dedicated to enhancing life that Vince Lombardi would have kissed their feet (if they’d had any.)

Pasteur, who discovered the effects of bad bacteria, was French. Metchnikoff, who discovered the benefits of good bacteria, was Russian. But it fell to a little known Japanese scientist named Teruo Higa to discover this combination of beneficial microorganisms that operate in a revolutionary relationship with each other and in so doing make human bodies hum like Lance Armstrong on the Tour De France.

What does this mean for you?

Stay with me here because this gets good.

The most extraordinary microorganisms in this serendipitous gathering of bacteria from the Far Side are the phototropic microbes. These fascinating micro-organism creatures have been here since before there was oxygen on the planet. In fact, they are anaerobic (hate oxygen).

How, you might wonder, does a living organism survive without oxygen?

In a simple act of adaptive Darwinian brilliance, it consumed what was in the environment: epicurean delights like carbon dioxide, ammonia, methane and hydrogen sulfide. And still does.

And in case the light-bulb didn’t go on as you read that, take note that these are all modern-day toxins. In other words, we have here a microorganism that thrives on poisons and pollutants.

But that’s only half the story: in a performance that confirms Mother Nature as the planet’s true environmental Magic Maker, these microbes excrete oxygen, amino acids, antioxidants and other substances that enhance life.

Now watch this…

The other members of the group are aerobic (oxygen loving) bacteria. Check out this teamwork. The aerobic bacteria consume the oxygen generated by the phototropic bacteria. They in turn give off carbon dioxide. This is food for the phototropic bacteria – which they readily consume.

So you have this symbiotic union of beneficial bacteria that’s like an organic PacMan. It goes charging through the environment devouring toxins and pollutants and giving off amino acids, vitamins, trace minerals, enzymes and antioxidants.

Think about a team of microorganisms that are:

1) Thriving on toxins and polluting elements in your digestive track
2) Generating antioxidants and other healthy by-products
3) Overcoming pathogenic (harmful microbes)

And, they’re doing it all at the same time.

Who would have thought that ancient, toxin-eating microorganisms and their organic by-products could bring life-enhancing benefits to people in the 21st century? Don’t you think it’s time that you get more probiotics into your life?

Is it possible to have this much back pain with IBS?

I’m hoping someone out there has IBS (I’m sure there are many). I was recently diagnosed, just had a colonoscopy just to make sure all was OK, and it turned out OK. 4 years ago I had 2 feel of colon removed due to diverticulitis. I have been in excruciating pain in between constipation, diarrhea, stomach cramps and back pain. The doctor (GI) has given me Levsin, Donnatol and even prescribed digestive enzymes (creon, at $130.00) and nothing is working. I am finding it very difficult to function. I may have 2 good days out of the week.

Is IBS really this debilitating? I am going to see my GP tomorrow who has been my doc for 15 years. There has got to be some relief for this miserable condition. I am questioning if this is really IBS?? Thanks for your help!

I would think about going to a different doctor for a second opinion. I had ulcerative colitis, but had to have my entire colon removed because of massive blood loss. I was lucky enough to live close enough to the university of chicago hospital which has its own IBD Center and they saved my life. This is the first time in a long time I havent had to live with pain and im not on any medication! I know how it is to deal with the pains you deal with. I went to the same GI doctor for years and he didnt bring me much relief. When things got really bad, none of the doctors in my area knew what to do, thats why they rushed me to the univ. of chicago.

Doxycycline Acne Treatments for Your Acne Problems

For more severe cases of acne, you could opt for Doxycycline Acne medication which is an acne antibiotic. It is a derivative of tetracycline which is a type of antibiotic. There are various reports that doxycycline is more effective than tetracycline itself. The mechanism although is the same for all . They inhibit the replication and growth of bacteria involved with acne. Doxycycline Acne absorption can be affected by certain supplements such as vitamins, minerals, calcium, magnesium, sodium bicarbonate, iron, and antacids.

Doxycycline Acne treatments should be taken two hours beforehand. In taking this acne antibiotic, avoid medications such as warfarin, penicillin, and contraceptive pills since they do not react well with the medication. Taking the birth control pill while having doxycycline treatment significantly reduces the effectiveness of contraception.

Some of the potential of Doxycycline Acne treatments include rashes, itching, , sunburn, skin flaking, swelling or edema of facial features, bruising and bleeding easily, and scanty urine. Other symptoms include severe cramps, severe bloody , and high persistent fever. If these symptoms appear, consult a doctor as soon as possible.

Even if symptoms develop after the discontinued use of doxycycline, serious problems could abound. This is due to the fact that doxycycline can eradicate the normal bacterial flora in the intestines. These bacteria are normal residents of the gastrointestinal tract and they help in absorption of nutrients and water. They also help synthesize vitamin K, which is responsible for blood clotting mechanisms of the blood. With lack of vitamin K due to decreased normal bacterial flora in the intestines, there is a high tendency and incidence of bleeding. Aside from this, the disruption of the number of local bacterial flora invokes other foreign opportunistic bacteria to seek residence in the gastrointestinal tract. This will lead to diseases such as cholera, dysentery, and diarrhea.

Less complicated symptoms usually involve an allergic reaction. These include skin rash, pruritus, hives, facial swelling, and breathing abnormalities. Due to facial swelling, there is a consequent difficulty in breathing due to constriction of the airway. If this happens, you may experience asthma, wheezing, and even shortness of breath. With regards to pregnant and child-bearing women, they should not take doxycylcine as it can cause liver problems, as well as bone deformities in developing babies.

(b)Shortly after Jessica has been diagnosed and treated, her niece starts to exhibit the same signs and symptoms of vomiting and severe diarrhoea. Three hours later, the ’s anterior fontanel appears sunken and she is lethargic with a rapid pulse. What urgent treatment does the require?

Na and K must be replaced very quickly in order to prevent severe complications

The baby needs to be re-hydrated stat. The fontanels will only be depressed after a great deal of water is lost.

Sore Fever

Sore Cures – Will This Simple Tip Cure Your Sores?

Some say cold sore cures have yet to be discovered. Others say cold sore cures are being used by millions of people today.

Who is telling the truth?

Amazing as it may seem, BOTH are telling the truth.

Let us see how this can be.

The group telling you cold sore cures do not exist is primarily referring to the herpes simplex virus.

This is the virus that causes all cold sores, fever blisters and oral herpes. Once the herpes virus gets into your body, it lives in your nerve fibers for life.

Cold sore cures, to this group, must be able to remove the virus from your body. Since there is no way currently known to remove this virus permanently, they maintain that there are no cold sore cures.

What are those people talking about that claim cold sore cures exist?

These folks are talking about preventing the cold sores and their associated from happening.

They feel that if you get rid of a current cold sore, then you cured that cold sore. They also feel that if you no longer get the symptoms of cold sores – the actual sore – then you are cured of cold sores.

Think about this for a moment.

You are diagnosed with a disease only when the symptoms of that disease manifest themselves.

Every day we are all carrying a variety of viruses and germs that can cause many different diseases. But we do not worry about it because we do not have the disease unless we show the symptoms. Usually your immune system takes care of it.

The same is true with cold sores.

Nearly 90% of all people carry the herpes virus. This can be considered everyone. Over one-third of those people will never have a single cold sore, fever or oral herpes event in their lifetime. Their immune system – and the antibodies – is protecting them.

It is a fact – their bodies have their own built-in cold sore cures.

The rest of us have to find our own cold sore cures.

We will always have the virus among us. There is no vaccine or medicine that can remove it. Anything like this is still many years away.

But it does not matter. The herpes virus can be driven into hiding and kept dormant for life.

Do you desire to cure a current outbreak? Do you want to stop getting cold sores for the rest of your life?

The great news is that there are cold sore cures being used successfully by millions of people today. There is no reason you can’t be one of them.

But, be ye warned.

The cold sore cures you find in the stores are comfort treatments only. They will not significantly shorten the duration of any cold sore. They do work great for comfort. Do not expect any more than that and you will not be disappointed.

But, you probably already know this or you wouldn’t be here right now.

Do you seriously want to cure cold sores – both present and future? Then the first thing you must do is to boost your immunity. The quickest way to accomplish this is by starting a premium quality vitamin supplement regimen.

There are many people that have gone years without a head cold, flu or cold sore attack by simply taking a good nutritional supplement array.

Also, taking additional lysine in the form of supplements has proven to cure cold sores for thousands of people.

Do you get a lot of cold sores? Do your cold sores seem to last a long time from start to finish?

Then, before trying any other cold sore cures, attack the herpes virus first with vitamin and lysine supplements. This is basic and will super-charge any other cold sore cures you many try.

Believe me, there are quite a few good cold sore cures. But they do not work for everybody because each person has different triggers for their cold sores.

Getting proper nutrition may not be the complete answer, but it will certainly help any other cold sore remedies you try to work much better.

This surely will aid you in finding your own cold sore cures.

Can a person with a cold sore/fever blister give someone genital herpes?

Through oral sex? And can it work in the other direction too?

Just something I always wondered. I know it’s the same virus, but is it that simple?

YES DEFINITELY—a person with herpes/cold sore CAN transmit genital herpes if performing oral sex.

Determining Hiv Symptoms

It varies for each person who experience the symptoms of HIV but it often take months to years before the signs and symptoms of HIV infection appear. When the infection get worse and do not treated well, HIV can lead to AIDS.

HIV or human immunodeficiency virus is a type that attacks human immune system. HIV can cause death because this virus weakens the immune system through infection. This virus is categorized as one of the deadliest pathological condition because the early symptoms of HIV infection can be tough to diagnose.

People must increase their knowledge about HIV since it is becoming one of the most lethal diseases in the world. At least, you should have an idea of the primary symptoms of HIV. Primary HIV infection is the stage when a person has been infected with HIV for a few weeks or months. Persons infected with HIV may have symptoms that are similar to the flu or mononucleosis during this time. Throughout primary HIV infection, a person will not get clear test result to settle on if they are infected or not using standard HIV antibody tests.

In many cases, those who do show early HIV symptoms will develop a flu-like symptom. These flu-like symptoms are comprised of , rash, muscles aches and swollen lymph nodes and glands. But in other cases, they may not demonstrate the symptoms of HIV at all and keep silent for years. Most people with primary HIV infection have symptoms of that occur usually two to six weeks after becoming infected. Acute retroviral syndrome is constantly experienced by people with these symptoms; primary HIV infection can have different symptoms on different people. Some scientists consider rash and are the main symptoms of primary HIV infection especially when it present in combination with one or more of the symptoms.

Those who do have symptoms usually experience fever, loss of appetite and joint pain. Other general symptoms include throat, muscle pain, swollen lymph nodes, diarrhea, fatigue, headache, oral or genital ulcers, nausea and vomiting. These symptoms can occur within days or weeks of the early contact to the virus during primary or acute HIV infection period. In other cases, people with HIV show no symptoms at all, however, most people always present some symptoms and others may only show mild symptoms. When the primary or acute HIV infection is over, the symptoms decrease and patients will look better for a while. Most people do not exhibit any visible symptoms for longer period of time; it is about 8-10 years.

If these conditions are left untreated, the immune system will become rapidly weak and the disease progresses to AIDS. The next symptoms experienced by person infected with HIV are often related with the opportunistic infections that attack patients with AIDS symptoms contain pneumonia, tuberculosis, and toxoplasmosis. Primary HIV infection or primary symptoms of HIV are a stage that needs instant medical treatments. You should explore for prompt from a STD testing site to know if you have the disease.

I’ve been having diarrhea like symptoms for the past 2 weeks and something just doesn’t seem right?

The feces is a dark orange color. I want to know what is wrong with me and what i should do? I tried pepto-bismo and it don’t work.

Thanks.

Something is definitely not right. Unfortunately there is no way to figure out precisely what is wrong based on your story alone. My suggestion would be to consult a physician and have a fecalysis taken, to rule out certain bugs that can cause chronic infections.

Lyme Disease : Small Dose, Big Effect

The person suffers the Lyme disease when the bacteria are transmitted into the body, when the host ticks bites. Lyme disease causes ranging from rash, , chills and body aches to joint swelling, weakness and temporary paralysis.

Important thing to be noted is these ticks spreading the disease is the typically about the size of a sesame seed. Basically this disease is most common in rural and suburban area in northeastern and Midwestern states. The disease is also been prognosis in Asia and Australia.

It has been noted that Lyme disease is very much curable, but if not detected in early stage then it may lead to complications like:

  • Chronic joint inflammation (Lyme arthritis), particularly of the knee
  • Neurological symptoms, such as facial palsy and neuropathy
  • Cognitive defects, such as impaired memory
  • Heart rhythm irregularities
  • Memory loss
  • Difficulty concentrating
  • Changes in mood or sleep habits

Lyme disease rash:

Antibiotics, is available for treating the Lyme disease, which is also the primary treatment for Lyme disease. It is effective and almost all patients recover after antibiotic treatment. Nevertheless, curing may take weeks to months after finishing antibiotic treatment.

However, a point to be noted, people who recover slowly don’t benefit from taking additional antibiotics. Also there is an observance that in about 10 to 15 percent of individuals with early Lyme disease, when there is substances released by the dying bacteria, which cause a brief worsening of symptoms. This is called as Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction. The reaction is noted to occur within 24 hours after starting antibiotics, which may continue for a day or so, and then it also resolves. But if such reaction is happening then Antibiotic therapy should not be stopped, but should instead continue as originally prescribed by the medical practitioner.

Small Doses and Big effects:

Oral antibiotics
Oral antibiotics: the standard treatment for early-stage Lyme disease. The doses include

  • doxycycline for adults and children older than 8
  • Amoxicillin or cefuroxime axetil for adults, younger children and pregnant or breast-feeding women

These drugs are effective and clear the infection and also prevent complications.

Recommended course period: 14- to 21-day course of antibiotics

Intravenous antibiotics
this method of treatment is used when the disease has progressed. Effective in eliminating infection, but the disease being progressed it takes time recovering symptomatically.

Recommended course period: Doctor may recommend treatment with an intravenous antibiotic for 14 to 28 days.

Side Effects: lower white blood cell count, gallstones and mild to severe .

Pain-relieving medicines: For reducing the pain caused by the rashes. Also swollen joints can be reduced by the doctor removing fluid from them. They use the procedure of arthrocentesis which is a procedure whereby fluid is removed from a joint using a needle and syringe under sterile conditions.  The doctor also can use oral medications such as ibuprofen (Motrin, Nuprin) to reduce inflammation and reduce pain.

Warning: Avoid bismacine
The and Drug Administration (FDA) has given warnings to consumers and care providers to avoid bismacine.

Bismacine, also known as chromacine, is an injectable compound, which has been prescribed by some alternative medicine practitioners to treat Lyme disease. Bismacine contains high levels of the metal bismuth, can cause bismuth poisoning, which can lead to heart and kidney failure. Though bismuth is safely used in some oral medications for ulcers, but it’s not approved for use in injectable form or even in oral form as a treatment for Lyme disease.

There is more likeliness to get Lyme disease if you live or spend time in the grassy and heavily wooded areas where ticks carrying the disease breed. Therefore it’s important to take common precautions in areas where Lyme disease seems to be prevalent. Treatment with appropriate antibiotics in the early stages of the disease will most likely, the individual will recover completely.
