Treatment and remedy for diarrhea during pregnancy

Diarrhea tends to be one of the least common of these. It is not the occasional loose stool or the frequent passing of formed stools.

There are a couple of reasons why diarrhea is not very common during pregnancy. The first is that prenatal vitamins taken during pregnancy tend to constipate a woman and the second reason is that as pregnancy progresses, the intestines tend to slow down, which also results in constipation.

Yet pregnant women are just as susceptible to becoming infected with many of the viruses and bacteria that can cause diarrhea as women who are not pregnant. The biggest concern for pregnant women with diarrhea is the risk of severe dehydration, which can affect the baby.

Diarrhea during early pregnancy is not common but can be caused by a variety of reasons including certain types of foods, lactose intolerance, poisoning or bacteria.

The best way to avoid diarrhea during pregnancy is by being aware of the situation. It is essential to know something about this subject in case the doctor is out of reach. It is also a great aid to comprehend that pregnancy and diarrhea does not always come together so this can help you in your diet.

Exercising should be moderate because too much of it may lead to dehydration.diarrhea and pregnancy are sensitive conditions so it is safe to consult a doctor when it happens. Once a person is dehydrated, then immediate medical intervention is needed.

If you already have a history of IBS (irritable bowel syndrome) or IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) then you are more likely to face diarrhea during pregnancy first trimester, otherwise in most cases diarrhea generally affects late in the pregnancy.

Some foods that you were very comfortable with in the past may not be compatible to your pregnancy and can cause disturbed bowel movements. In most cases it is constipation but in some cases it may mean lose motions. Other than these causes if your diarrhea is caused by bacteria then you must consult your doctor.

My only symptoms right now are vomiting and diarrhea. Everything else is normal, baby is moving fine. Are these normal pregnancy symptoms? Could it be something I ate?

5 Types of to Ditch and Get Flat Stomach

Every person has flaws on their body. The main problems which everyone likes to tackle are about their bellies. Dietitians only recommend promoting healthy eating and not rocket ways to achieve that flat stomach.

There are several tips to reduce the belly. To achieve it, try to at least consume minimal or eliminate the following foods:

o Salt- Salt is concealed in canned foods, baked foods and cured meats. Salt can draw water from the body and thereby give you a sluggish look. Now that explains why eating too much salty foods can give you painful results targeting your belly.

o Cut carbohydrates if you’re eating more – Sneak a quick look into your diet and see whether you’re consuming carbs more than your body requirements. If you eat more carbs, the extra glucose is converted into glycogen, a storage form of extra energy and glycogen that attracts water.

o Do not eat excess of salads- Most dietitians recommend to eat salads as many of them hardly eat any veggies. But if you eat excessively, it might result to bloating. This is due to the stomach that expands. Eat in smaller portions and chew it well.

o Sugar Substitutes- A few of the sugar substitutes including xylitol, maltitol are found in low sugar or sugar free products. These do not add to the calories but if taken excessively, it can cause gas, abdominal distention and diarrhea.

o Fried food- They are not only bad for your heart but also for your tummy. This ude to the fact that it takes longer time to digest and making you feel bloated.

o Carbonated drinks- All those bubbles stay in stomach and can cause bloating. This includes frothy beer, softdrinks and caffeine drinks as well.

o Acidic drinks- To reduce the bloat-ish and the achy feeling in the tummy try to reduce the intake respectively. Excessive intake of alcohol, beverages such as tea, coffee, acidic fruit juices can irritate the stomach lining and may cause stomach bloat. Drink these in moderation.

All the stated foods or drinks are undeniably inevitable. But all in all, we can eat or drink else moderately. You can also opt for healthier alternatives instead. Instead of eating the usual white bread or pasta, eat whole meal and wholegrain bread. If possible, eat whole wheat pasta and brown rice, low fat milk products, egg whites, lean meat and tuna as well. As much as possible, you can count calories in each meal but not really necessary for an average person. Simply stay away from the foods you know are unhealthy for you, trim sweets, cakes, pastries and soft drinks. Choose the brands with less saturated fat. Then give your body what it really needs: consume fruits, whole grains, vegetables, nuts, and lean protein. Don’t forget to drink a lot of water as well.

In achieving your stunning flat stomach, eat healthy, exercise right and do it daily. Then, you can pave way to a slimmer and healthier you. Best of luck!

Another diarrhea question?

My family and I just came back from the Carribean. 2 days after we got back, my husband has very bad diarrhea practically all day. Whatever he eats, must come out. No stomach pains. I offered to bring him to the doctor today,(6th day now), but of course he is being “a man” (sorry) and says he is fine now. I know he will wake up all night with this again. What is wrong. Could he have gotten a parasite. All of us otherwise, are fine. We all ate the same thing, except he ate more salad over there. (Curacao)

he may of just gotten a bug . nothing to worry about just needs to eat light foods. like soup and crackers and toast. nothing heavy. and sometimes something with cheese helps to rebind hs stoamch back up.. also try pepto bismol

cramping and diarrhea during pregnancy

Anyone else experience cramps & late in your pregnancy?

I am about 34 or 35 weeks along, I have been having diarrhea since I hit week 30, and I do remember this happened with my 1st pregnancy too. The first time around my dr just thought that it was how my body was handling the pregnancy, this time around I have mentioned it to my dr last appt (different dr this time) but she didn’t say much, hooked me to a monitor to monitor the baby for 20 minutes says everything is fine. I don’t think I am having any major issues or anything, but just wondering if anyone else has dealt with this.

I usually only get it at night, drinking ginger tea helps alot, but today is the first time (with this pregnancy) that I have had it during the day and I have dealt with it about 3 times so far today), I almost wonder if my body is going though the clearing out process for labor, but it might also be nothing again.

im 37+4 and i started having it last week, my dr said its my body preparing for labor..trying to clean itself out..i only get it like every other day.. good luck

Common Menstrual Disorders of Adolescent Girls

Adolescence is the time when there is sudden transformation in the body and many questions arises in the minds of the adolescents. Firstly they are not able to cope with the changes and secondly the changes bring along problems with them. The most challenging problems are related to menses, in girls. Menstrual conditions are many that may require physician’s attention or any other healthcare professional’s attention. The most common of the menstrual disorders are premenstrual syndrome, dysmenorrheal and amenorrhea.

Before the onset of the menses, females face many uncomfortable symptoms which last for a short period, stretching from few hours to few days. But some of them can be very intense and can disturb the normal functioning of the person. These symptoms are grouped as premenstrual syndrome. In usual cases, the symptoms come to a halt when the menses begin, but for some they may last even after the menstrual periods are over. Eighty five percent of the females experience some of the symptoms of premenstrual syndrome at one time or the other. Nearly forty percent experience the symptoms so intensely that their daily chores are affected by it and ten percent are disabled by it.

There are many premenstrual syndrome symptoms which can be broadly classified as neurologic & vascular symptoms, psychological symptoms, gastrointestinal symptoms, fluid retention, eye problems and respiratory problems. The cause of premenstrual syndrome are fluctuations in the levels of progesterone & estrogen, hypoglycemia, hyperprolactinemia, psychogenic factors, changes in carbohydrate metabolism, excessive aldosterone, progesterone allergy and water retention by kidneys. The good thing is that premenstrual syndrome can be prevented by exercising regularly, eating balanced diet and sleeping adequately.

Dysmenorrhea is feeling intense menstrual pain and cramps. Depending on the severity, dysmenorrhea is stated as primary dysmenorrhea or secondary dysmenorrhea. Primary dysmenorrhea symptoms are felt from the onset of the menstrual periods and are felt life-long. Because of abnormal uterine contractions due to chemical imbalance, severe menstrual cramping is experienced. Secondary dysmenorrhea starts in the later stages. The causes are different for primary and secondary dysmenorrhea. Secondary dysmenorrhea can be blamed on medical conditions such as endometriosis, uterine fibroids, pelvic inflammatory disease, tumors, infections, and abnormal pregnancy.

Dysmenorrhea symptoms are lower abdomen cramping & pain, lower back pain, nausea, , vomiting, fatigue, fainting, weakness and headaches. Females who are overweight, smoke, and have started to menstruate before turning eleven are at a higher risk of developing dysmenorrheal. Females who drink alcohol during menstrual period experience prolonged pain. After studying the health conditions, age, cause of dysmenorrhea, and extent of condition of the individual, corresponding treatment will be recommended. Regular exercise, abdominal massage, hot bath, vitamin supplements, and dietary modifications can help overcome dysmenorrhea.

Amenorrhea is the condition in which the female skips her menses for more than three consecutive menstrual cycles. Amenorrhea is also classified as primary amenorrhea and secondary amenorrhea. Primary amenorrhea develops from the onset of menstrual periods. In this condition, the adolescent might not get periods when she enters puberty. Secondary amenorrhea is a condition where periods become irregular after a period of time and not from the start.

There are many causes of amenorrhea such as ovulation abnormality, eating disorders, birth defects, anatomical abnormalities, malnourishment, anorexia, bulimia, pregnancy, over exercising, thyroid disorder, obesity and other medical conditions. Out of these ovulation abnormalities are a common cause for absent or irregular periods. It is a must that an adolescent start getting menses at least by the age of sixteen. If not, anatomical abnormality, birth defect and other medical conditions are the cause. Adolescents who participate in sports actively and are athletic have a lower body fat content because of which they have absent menses. Even because of malnourishment, the body is incapable of sustaining pregnancy. So in turn the body itself shuts down the reproductive system and menses. Extra fat cells in the body interfere with ovulation and that is the reason why obese female have irregular menses. Amenorrhea is treated by dietary modifications, ovulation inhibitors and hormone treatment.

Okay so I had unprotected sex on July 10th and 11th. My last period was July 1st-7th and I have a 28 day cycle. I was due to ovulate on July 15th according to ovulation calculator online. But On July 11th and 12th I experienced CM that was whitish and stretchy like they say it is when you ovulate. Now 7 days after unprotected sex I experienced cramping for about 2-3 hours this morning and some pains in my right side. Also I had diarrhea on day 4 and 5 after sex (not common for me). Anyway do you think I may have ovulated early when I had the CM and this is implantation cramping or do you think I just ovulated late and today was ovulation cramping? I have never experienced ovulation cramping before either.

Tummy issues after greasy food?

I’ve noticed that after I eat greasy food out at a restaurant (fries for example), within an hour of eating, I get diarrhea. It’s not every time I eat greasy food but it does happen most times. Is it just coincidence or could greasy food really cause someone to have diarrhea? Gross, I know but I had to ask!
